Vasudeva took Krishna in his hand and started going to Gokul.

 There were heavy rain falls in Mathura and Gokul. Vasudeva had

 to cross the river to reach Gokul. So, he prayed to Varundev 

“Oh Varundev! I shall cross this river to reach Gokul.” 

So, please decrease the level of river" 

 Varundev agreed for that. As Vasudeva was crossing, Vasuki went 

behind him to give shelter to Krishna. 

That’s why Krishna is  also known as Vasudev. 

||Om Sri Krishna Vasudevaya Namaha|| 

This was the respect of  serpent Vasuki. Vasudeva and Krishna reached Gokul safely. In Gokul, Vasudeva was confused.  He saw many houses there. Then, he saw a different house. He thought, This can be Nanda’s huse. So, he went inside Nanda’s house. He saw a baby girl. He replaced Krishna there and took the baby girl. Then, Vasudeva thought, “He should have a sibling to accompany him.” He saw a baby girl. He replaced Krishna there and took the baby girl. Then, Vasudeva thought, “He should have a sibling to accompany him.” Then he went to his another wife’s house in Gokul. There a baby boy was sleeping with his mother (Another wife of Vasudeva). He took that baby boy and took him to Nanda’s house and placed him near Krishna. No one in Gokul knew all this as everyone were in a deep sleep.
